There are three ways to prepare L-serine. One is obtained by hydrolysis of protein with high L-serine content, separation and purification by ion exchange resin; the other is obtained by reaction of ethyl formate and ethyl hippurate; the third is obtained by fermentation with sugar as raw material.
It can be used as nutrition supplement and amino acid medicine. It is mainly used for amino acid infusion. Because of its special wettability, it is also used in cream and cosmetics
