DL-Phenylalanine

White flake crystal or crystalline powder. Odorless. No optical rotation. It is soluble in water, dilute inorganic acid and alkaline hydroxide solution, but very difficult to dissolve in ethanol. It has the same physiological effect as L-phenylalanine.
